Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre has been engaged in a number of social, cultural and environmental activities that are part of an overall effort to improve the well-being of UAE society in general and the Abu Dhabi community in particular.
Staging Events with a Society Value Dimension
ADNEC’s facilities have been used on numerous occasions for events with a Society Dimension with ADNEC offering free or reduced tenancy:

- National Show for Society Awareness and Humanitarian Services

- HE Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Poetry Night
- World Jiu Jitzu Championships 2011
- General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Imam’s Meetings
- Global Autism Day – staging an event to support
- Supporting Red Crescent Society – giving free space
- “Drive Safe” Initiative – use of media hoardings and communication with staff to improve driver safety
- Aloft runs for children @ ADNEC – use of venue for indoor fun run
- Participation of Educational Institutes / Schools in the events / exhibitions – ADNEC has a proactive policy to encourage the attendance of large numbers of students from across the UAE at relevant events. This includes bespoke catering and transport management policies for such events which can include 120 buses and 5,000 students attending shows at any one time.
Environmental Impact:
ADNEC is increasingly focusing on minimising the environmental impact of its operations. For this, various initiatives have been undertaken to reduce the corporate footprint by efficiently managing the resources that have an impact on the environment.
To implement this, the ADNEC Environmental Task Force (AETF) was established in 2010.

ADNEC is rapidly expanding its company level environmental initiatives including solar panels, Bio-diesel generation from food waste, water from air machinery. Company level recycling includes glass, gypsum, wood and metal. Again the strong and innovative work at our benchmark shows the opportunities to develop this area.
