Since inception in 1986, ADIPEC has continued to expand steadily and today takes up the entire 32,000 sqm of net indoor hall space as well as substantial outdoor space at ADNEC.
The last ADIPEC in 2010 recorded comprehensive growth featuring 45,000 industry executives (18% growth over 2008). Of these, more than half were repeat visitors to the event. More than 1,500 companies exhibited (growth of 5% over ‘08), and 91 countries were represented (89 in 2008), including 14 national pavilions.
Besides the exhibition, ADIPEC featured a cutting-edge technical conference with delegate attendance reaching over 4,300, showing a 69% rise over the previous edition.
With more than half of the world Oil & Gas reserves located within the Middle East, and in close proximity to Abu Dhabi, ADIPEC continues to grow as an important event. Billions of dollars in deals were signed during ADIPEC 2010 underlining the event’s significance for the energy industry.
In line with ongoing venue investments by ADNEC, the 408-room Aloft Abu Dhabi hotel was opened a year prior to the last ADIPEC. The hotel - which is inter-connected with the exhibition centre, was extensively used by ADIPEC attendees, contributing to the show’s overall success.
The 2012 edition of ADIPEC looks set to be bigger and better than ever and will mark the 15th successive edition. Much more than just an exhibition, ADIPEC 2012 will have exciting features including the technical conference, CEO summit Business Program, Oil and Gas Awards, museum, graduate fair and other regular show highlights.
Besides the indoor area, ADNEC’s purpose-built marina, which offers quayside exhibition space, will be the site for equipment used in the offshore oil & gas sector. In addition, ADIPEC 2012 will also feature an outdoor exhibition area for heavy equipment - ideal for companies specializing in all aspects of the oil & gas sector, with this year a focus being offshore and marine equipment, as well as for manufacturers of cranes, lifts, and rigs.
“ADIPEC 2012 is set to grow once more, we are developing two new unique exhibitions areas that offer visitors access to equipment and services that were previously unseen at this show,” says Kimon Alexandrou, Commercial Director at dmg::events, organisers of the show. “The continued development at ADNEC has allowed ADIPEC to expand and grow in size and scale over the years”.
ADIPEC 2012 attendees are also set to benefit from the recent opening of the Abu Dhabi International Airport Check-In facilities at ADNEC. Hundreds of other Abu Dhabi hotel rooms are also going to be made available next year, including 189-rooms at the 5-star Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, inter-connected with ADNEC, as well hotels by Rotana and Premier Inn.
